It generally does not contain seeds, or only one, very small in size. Shrub or small tree (ca. 2-3 m), much smaller than the well-known red jambo (Syzygium malaccense), with a pyramidal crown and evergreen leaves. The fruits are consumed raw, or used to prepare drinks, jams and jellies. The tree is very ornamental, both for its elegant small size and for the beautiful contrast formed by the large load of white fruits with the light green foliage.
