Psidium Cattleyanum var Purpureum
It is a shrub from 2.5 to 4 m in height, reaching 7 to 8 m in height when in clearings in the middle of the forest. The crown is rounded, irregular and thin, reaching twice the height of the plant. The trunk is tortuous, with a smooth shiny and greyish rhytidome, and once a year the bark comes off in papyraceous sheets (like strips of paper), showing the inner bark that is greenish and becomes orange and finally grayish. The fruits are very tasty and refreshing, reminiscent of the taste of strawberry, especially the variety that produces red fruits.
