Eugenia spp Murta da várzea
Seeds were imported from Brazil and are germinating. This is a specie I, nor any of my other sources are familiar with. I purchased it along with some other species in hopes I could later identify but have had no luck. The fruits are red and elongated. The collector found them in the amazon, and said the fruits were okay to eat out of hand but not the best. They are very juicy however and makes an excellent juice. They said it was called Murta da várzea locally. Seeds will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
