Myrciaria aff Tenella - Preta
Seeds were imported from Brazil. This is a species thought to be similar to Tenella. This one grows into a shrub or small tree, getting to around 2-4 meters in height. Found in Santa Catarina. The fruit of this specie are around 2cm in diameter, tasting better than Myrciaria Tenella, the collector who tried it says it’s much sweeter. The fruits ripen to a black-purple color. Each fruit contains on seed. This will more than likely be the last time we can collect this specie. The area where the plant was located has very recently been deforested, and the plant was cut down. Seeds will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
