Seeds were imported from Brazil. Eugenia sp. 'Purple Plum' was found on the Western Amazon Coast in Brazil. It is a small tree, growing to around 6-8 feet tall as shown in the photos. This specie started fruiting in 4-5 years, and has a nice sweet-acid flavor. The leaves and fruit of this specie are very beautiful, making it a great ornamental piece. The fruit has a single fuzzy seed, surround by an abundance of juicy flesh. This is a new specie we are very excited about. Seeds are germinated and will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
