Eugenia Multicostata var "Amarilla" - Yellow Multicostata
Seeds where imported from Brazil. This is an ultra rare Eugenia species recently discovered in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. It is a tall tree, and very ornamental, either for the beauty of its foliage, or for its intense rust-red trunk. Each fruit contains a single seed. Unlike the regular Multicostata, this trees fruit ripens to a yellow-orange, sided like a giant pitanga, with a very pleasant flavor. This is not to get confused with the Multicostata var “octocostata”, it is totally different. The fruit is consumed raw, or in the form of juices, jellies and ice cream. This tree was first discovered in Brazil only 2 years ago, and this is the first time this specie has been imported into the USA. Seeds are fresh and viable, and will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
