Psidium Oblongatum
Seeds were imported from Brazil. Endemic species of the Atlantic highland rainforest, occurring discontinuously in the states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil. It is a tree growing 3 to 4 m tall, very rarely reaching 6 m tall when in the middle of the forest. The crown is irregular, dense or open depending on the environment in which it is found. The trunk is twisted, measuring15 to 25 cm in diameter. The bark is thin and smooth, brownish brown in color and stained by the peeling of the bark in small plates. The plant grows quickly after planting and does not require special care. The fruits have a sour and bitter taste, not to everyone's taste. The best way to consume it is in the form of guava-type sweets. As it is a small plant, it should be able to be kept in containers. Seeds are shipped in humid vermiculite.
