Myrciaria Glomerata - GERMINATED
Seeds were imported from Brazil. This is one of the most rare Myrciaria right now, and took me 3 years to get my hands on it. It produces an almost spherical fruit, about 2.5 cm long, with a thin, intensely scarlet-red skin, slightly hairy, especially at the apex. The pulp is reddish and juicy, sweet and without acidity. The small tree measures around 2-3 m, and is very ornamental, especially for its beautiful young foliage. Great for natural consumption, it is also highly recommended as an ornamental, due to the color and growth of its young leaves. It can be successfully kept in pots and in small gardens. It can be found in the Atlantic Forest understory, in Minas Gerais at about 1000 m altitude. It is very hard to find growing in the wild. Seeds are germinated and will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
