Seeds were imported from Columbia. Pirula grows as a small tree or shrub, producing fruits with a beautiful bright yellow skin, that is a little bumpy, with a pleasant, sweet flavor. The plant doesn’t get very big, maybe 3 meters. It should be able to live in a container for a very long time and fruit without issue. The shrub like tree produces orange fruit when ripe. Once the fruits start to ripen you will need to harvest the tree everyday. The fruits taste similar to cherries and are sweet, it has a slight acidic taste as well. These were discovered in northern part of Colombia between the municipalities of Coveñas Sucre and Purísima Córdoba. The leafs are 3.8 cm by 7.6 cm in length. The fruits are round with a diameter of 33 mm. Seeds will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
