Seeds were imported from Indonesia. Sub-canopy tree up to 29 m tall. Stipules present, but falling off early. Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined, silvery-golden below. Flowers are white to pale yellow, usually placed solitary behind the leavy twigs. Fruits are 35 mm long, bright red, dehiscent, with short spines, seeds with small red aril which covers only a small part of the black seeds. The timber is locally used. The flesh is edible, but there is a very small amount and it does not taste like much. Seeds are germinating and will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
