Diploon cuspidatum is an evergreen tree with a narrow, elongate crown; it can grow 15 - 27 meters tall. The straight, cylindrical bole can be 30 - 50cm in diameter. The tree is sometimes harvested from the wild for local use of its edible fruit and its wood. The fruits are yellow when ripe, with a very sweet flesh. The flavor is very similar to Abiu according to the collector. It has a dense, sweet, somewhat floury flesh. The yellow, globose fruit can be 6cm in diameter, containing a single seed. Seeds are viable and will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
