Condalia Buxifolia - Piquilín
Seeds were imported from Marcos in Argentina. Condalia buxifolia is a very spiny, deciduous shrub or small tree with a dense crown, growing up to 5 meters tall. The short bole can be 15 - 25cm in diameter. The tree is sometimes harvested from the wild for local use as a food and source of wood. The fruit is eaten out of hand, and is said to have a succulent pulp with a sweetish flavor. The small, green to reddish-yellow, ellipsoidal fruits are up to 8mm long and 5mm wide. Seeds are viable and shipped in humid vermiculite.
