Tree that grows from 4 to 10 m in height, forming an oval crown. The trunk has thin bark and a grayish-brown coloration, with a rough and lenticelated texture (warts or striations) in the longitudinal direction; when old, the trunk has cracked bark. The pulp is very thick and floury, easily detached from the seed and has a very pleasant flavor reminiscent of apple and coconut cake. Once it reaches the point of browning and becoming slightly wrinkled, the fruit can be pulped; the pulp can be frozen for future use or used immediately to make juices, smoothies, ice cream, mousses and puddings. Due to the quality of the fruits, this species deserves greater attention from everyone and has great potential for commercial cultivation to produce various types of food. Seeds are shipped in humid vermiculite.
