Byrsonima Crassifolia - MURICI DO CERRADO

Small tree found growing to 2-4 m tall, with an uneven crown due to branches that break easily, the stem is grayish brown in color and the older trunk shows bark with checkered fissures. The leaves are simple, leathery, tomentose (covered with hairs) on the upper side when still young, and pubescent (covered with small hairs) on the lower side, measuring15 to 24 cm in length by4th 9 cm wide. The flowers are yellow in number of15 to 35 flowers arranged in small racemes (a type of cluster with a central stem). The fruits are consumed fresh and used to make jams, and ice creams. Seeds are shipped in humid vermiculite.
