Seeds were imported from Brazil. It is found in humid or marshy lands and in the mangroves of several countries, from Argentina, in vast areas of Brazil, occurring in Peru, spreading through Central America to Mexico and the South of the United States in Florida. Tree growing 4 to 12 meters tall, it has spreading branches that grow from the ground and grayish-brown branches with lenticels (a protrusion of cells that carry out gas exchange). The leaves are stiff and glabrous (hairless) with a cylindrical petiole (stalk or support) of 1 to 2.5 cm in length. The tree can be grown in gardens as an ornamental plant, and mainly to restore and enrich the flora of marshy areas, as its fruits feed several fruit-eating animals. The fruits have orange pulp, are not very sweet, and are easily released from the seed. Few people enjoy eating them raw. However, if the fruits are pulped, the pulp can be used in savory dishes, in meat sauces, stews, and in condiment preparations or in sweets.

We can ship up to five 4x4x6 containers for $15 total. For this specie you can get 1 plant in one 4x4x6 Container.

The plants photographed are similar to the ones you will receive. Typically the largest plants available will be shipped out first.
