Pouteria Bangii var "Grande"
Seeds were imported from Brazil. This is a variation of the normal Pouteria Bangii, that produces fruits twice the size. The good part is, the seeds are similar in size, but this one has been found with almost double the amount of flesh. This is a tree found in Itacare growing around 10 meters. The tree was found in a sandy soil. The fruits ripen to a orange/red color, and are in the shape of a football. The skin/pulp is impossible to separate, and must be eaten together. It is crispy, and sweet with a decent flavor. When the fruits are picked perfectly ripe there is little or no latex. Seeds are very viable, and will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
