Seeds were imported from Brazil. This is a smallish, shrubby palm with slender, clustering stems and wispy, plumose leaves with straight leaflets. Syagrus cataphracta is native to dry forests and cerrado in the eastern Brazilian state of Bahia. It will make a nice ornamental plant for tropical and warm temperate climates but is largely unknown in cultivation. Seeds will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
