This species was imported as seed from Brazil. This is an ultra rare species found in Brazil. The tree grows as an understory plant, only 6-7 meters in height. The foliage is elongated, and similar to that of plinia rara. The fruits form on the trunk, like most Jaboticaba. They are first green, and then ripen to a beautiful rosy pink color. The fruits are great for fresh eating. This specie is rarely available, so if you are lucky enough to get ahold of one of these seeds, take great care of it. Seeds will arrive to you germinated in humid vermiculite. Plant immediately!
