Brosimum Rubescens

Seeds were imported from Brazil. Bloodwood Cacique is an evergreen tree with a small crown; it can grow up to 40 meters tall but us ally smaller. The straight bole has high prop roots and can be 50 - 70cm in diameter. The tree is apparently without buttresses. The tree is commonly exploited in the wild for its high quality wood, which is exported to many countries. The tree these seeds came from were from a tree measuring in at 20 meters in height. The fruit is edible and said to be sweet by the collector. Seeds are shipped in humid vermiculite.
