Baccaurea Macrocarpa

Seeds were imported from Indonesia. These can range in size from a shrub about 5 meters tall up to a large tree with a dense crown 25 or more meters tall. The edible fruit is gathered from the wild for local use, and the plant is also cultivated in gardens and the fruit sold in local markets. A soft, juicy, off-white flesh with a sweet to sour flavor. It can be eaten raw, stewed or preserved. The golden-yellow spherical fruit ranges in diameter from 25 - 60mm, and is borne in small clusters of 3 - 5 fruits. Seeds are shipped in vermiculite.
