Seed was imported from Brazil. This is a seedling of an unidentified Pouteria. It was found on the sandbank of Massambaba. This is a medium sized tree that grows around 10 feet. The tree grows into more of a shrubbish state and bears small, sweet yellow fruits in abundance. The fruits are eaten out of hand and enjoyed by everyone. This is likely an abiu that produces smaller than average fruits as this specie is abundant in this region.
