This is a very rare medium sized tree found growing from 7 to 15 meters in tropical and subtropical climate, at altitude from 0 to 1000 meters. The fruits have a hard orange/yellow shell with latex in the skin. The pulp is yellow with a floury and moist consistency. It is sweet and aromatic, with a very pleasant taste. Each fruit usually contains a single seed.
